Eventually the time arrived for the competition. Due to problems we were still having with the vision system working correctly, we weren't sure if there would even be a competition. Fortunately, things worked out so that when the time came, all the teams were ready to compete. For the competition there were a couple of changes made from what was stated in the original rules. First, the colors used to differentiate players were blue and yellow instead of blue and red. Also, each team kept its color regardless of whether they were on offense or defense. It was also decided at the competition that a team that wins a match would get two points; if two teams tied, they each got a point; and if you lost, you got no points. When we played, we tied with both SPARCC and SHAKEY with no goals scored, but we were able to score on D'Artagnan. However, D'Artagnan won both its games against the other teams (one of which was due to their opponent scoring against themselves!) so we had to play them again in a final tournament. Here, we managed to score on them again and win the tournament. In the end our robot was not as intelligent as we had hoped it would be and there were several bouts during the competition where neither robot moved an inch. Most problems were traced to the poor vision system. Nevertheless, there was a distinction amoung the robots and D.A.R.T. came out victorious.
