Brent E. Nelson
Prof. Brent Nelson joined the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at Brigham Young University at the rank of
Assistant Professor after receiving the PhD in Computer Science from
the University of Utah in 1984. He was most recently promoted (to the rank of
Professor) in 1996. He served as chair of the department between 1993
and 1997. Also at Brigham Young University, he has served as both
Deputy Director and Director of the Center for Parallel
Supercomputing from 1989-1991. He has spent time as a
Visiting Scholar at General Dynamics Corporation (1987), Intel
Corporation (1991), and Sanders Corporation (1999). He is the author
or co-author of 50 papers in the fields of computer system design and
analysis, VLSI design and CAD, and configurable computing.
