Dr. James Archibald received his BS in Mathematics from Brigham
Young University in 1981 and his MS in Computer Science from the
University of Washington in 1983. He received his PhD in Computer
Science at the University of Washington in 1987 and joined the faculty
of Brigham Young University in that same year.
Dr. Archibald's research interests include autonomous
multi-agent systems and robotics. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate
courses in computer architecture, real-time embedded systems,
digital design, and robotics.
Dr. Archibald is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of
the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing
Machinery, and Phi Kappa Phi. He is a reviewer for
several scholarly publications.
